The blog campaign will be aimed at anyone interested in the Kitimat Project by showcasing all the efforts done by the workers of the Kitimat Project to ensure the safest, most innovative exporting plant in the world. Revolutionizing the liquefied natural gas industry as well as, creating history with the First Nations peoples.

RESEARCH

Chevron Canada has been working closely with the countries top environmentalists and scientists, along with the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples to ensure they do not cause any lasting damage to the land of the Gitga’at Peoples. Chevron will use the newest technology in renewable hydroelectricity. The Gitga’at First Nations Peoples will also be involved and assist with research of any effects we are causing to the wildlife of their land. Appointed environmentalists have been working for the last decade on the most innovative plant they can produce. Not only will the Kitimat plant be using renewable hydroelectricity, but they are also exploring solar – electricity. The Kitimat plant will be plastic-free in an effort to save and help the surrounding marine life.

SPOKESPEOPLE

John Doe has been running the entire Kitimat Project for the last 8 years. He has been working tirelessly in ensuring the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples are comfortable and that Chevron Canada holds up their side of the agreement.  John Doe has been speaking with the chief of the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples, Arnold Clifton, who has been assisting the project in any way he thinks they can make this plant more eco-friendly and any way Chevron Canada can support the first nations peoples.

Making history called for a lot of media, John Doe has been answering questions daily from the media about how this plant is still controversial. Doe and Chevron Canada want to assure everyone that they have been working day in and day out to protect the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples’ land and the environment surrounding them. Chevron Canada has policies put in place to protect the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples if anything were to happen as well as safety procedures if there were to be a disaster.

CONTENT

Chevron Canada couldn’t be more excited to make history with the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples and hope this to be a pleasant experience for both of them. We have offered jobs to any of the Gitga’at peoples that need or want them and have hired 130 people from their tribe so far. We are excited to be working closely with the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples and are excited to hear any ideas about how this exporting plant can be more eco-friendly, as well as immerse ourselves in the First Nations culture.

CALENDAR

As stated before, this project begin about 12 years ago in 2009 with Chevron Canada looking to expand its property. It wasn’t till 2013 that the research and plans were brought to the chief of the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples, who initially turned the project down. After about 2 years of going back and forth with the chief, taking into account his people’s needs, the agreement was signed and dated. The Kitimat Project plans were already drawn up and ready to go. We broke ground in Kitimat BC in late 2015 and contractors began building the plant. The plant is only a few weeks out from being fully operational, with our grand opening date on December 16th, 2021.

CONCLUSION

Chevron Canada couldn’t be more excited and honored to be working with the Gitga’at First Nations Peoples and thank their efforts in making this a pleasurable process.
